MY STORY

I've loved photos for as long as I can remember. Of course my memory isn't super great (which is probably why photos are so important to me), but in junior high school I can remember creating a "shoot" with my girlfriend at the grocery store for Pete's sake. I can remember exploring the dark room in high school and being mesmerized. I've been the girl with a camera for, well forever. Once my daughters Piper and Charli were born my love for "photos" turned into a love for "photography."

The “co.” in Alicia Hughes Photo Co. is my family. My husband who supports me in this crazy pursuit of happiness and fulfillment and adventure. My daughters who entirely inspired this crazy idea from the get-go and who will inevitably (or hopefully) help my business and be a part of my journey. It’s my parents who have donated endless hours of their time watching said sugar-booger and stinker-toot. It’s my friends who trust me to capture beautiful and special moments in their lives as I build my portfolio.

The “co.” includes a lovely local photographer and mom of FOUR little ones (including twin babies!) who has taken time out of her days to push me out of my nest and into the exhilarating world of photography. It includes my pup pup Finnegan, who is currently laying his head ON TOP OF my laptop and whom I expect to stick by my side as I edit during early mornings and late into the night. Okay, and from time to time it just might include a nice chilled glass of pinot grigio, you know, to get the creative juices flowing.
